About Friends of Standen Estate (FOSE)

Who are we ?

Mainly National Trust garden and woodland volunteers and staff. FOSE is a supporter group affiliated to the National Trust (Registered Charity No 205846). Our inaugural meeting was held on 4th September 2006. We currently have 64 members.

What are our aims ?

To actively promote and prosper the work of the Standen Estate; provide and promote engagement, through physical and intellectual access; preserve, promote and develop traditional countryside and horticultural crafts; promote social activities to make volunteering more enjoyable.

How do we do it ?

By encouraging volunteering and by tapping sources of funds additional to those available to the National Trust to provide training, tools and materials for the volunteers.

Want to join ?

Membership of FOSE costs just £2 per year (any extra voluntary donations will be greatly appreciated) and runs from 1st March each year. If you volunteer with the National Trust at Standen and would like to join, please contact the Membership Secretary.
